Any overtime?

This calculator provides estimates only and is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Federal tax uses the 2026 IRS withholding formula (Publication 15-T, Worksheet 1A) assuming a standard Form W-4 with no additional adjustments. Nevada does not levy a state income tax on wages, so no state withholding is calculated. It also uses the 2026 Social Security wage base. It supports Single/MFS, Married Filing Jointly/Qualifying Surviving Spouse, Head of Household and Nonresident Alien federal filing statuses (Nonresident Alien withholding follows the IRS Notice 1392 wage-addback procedure), and calculates overtime pay at 1.5x the hourly rate. It does not account for local taxes or additional allowances/credits. Actual withholding depends on your W-4, employer payroll system and individual circumstances. Consult a tax professional or payroll provider for exact figures.

Estimate Nevada take-home pay with federal taxes, overtime and payroll deductions without adding a nonexistent state wage income tax.

The Nevada paycheck calculator estimates take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and other employee deductions. Nevada does not impose an individual state income tax on wages, so a normal Nevada paycheck estimate should not subtract state personal income tax.

That does not mean every Nevada employee receives the same percentage of gross pay. Federal Form W-4 elections, pre-tax benefits, overtime, retirement contributions, garnishments and other payroll items can materially change net pay.

Why a Nevada Paycheck Calculation Is Different

Nevada has no individual state wage income tax, which removes one major withholding line found in many other states. The calculator can therefore focus on federal payroll taxes plus the employee deductions that actually apply.

Payroll ItemNevada Treatment
Nevada individual income taxNo state individual income tax on wages
Federal income taxBased on Form W-4 and 2026 IRS withholding methods
Social Security6.2 percent on covered wages up to $184,500
Medicare1.45 percent on covered wages
Nevada unemployment insuranceEmployer payroll tax, not a standard employee deduction
Modified Business TaxEmployer business tax, not employee state income tax withholding
State minimum wage$12.00 per hour
Daily overtimeCan apply to covered lower-paid employees after more than eight hours in a 24-hour workday

What Inputs Matter for Nevada Take-Home Pay?

A Nevada paycheck estimate still needs detailed payroll inputs even without state income tax withholding. Gross pay and federal filing information are only the starting point.

How Is Nevada Net Pay Calculated?

Nevada net pay begins with gross earnings then subtracts federal taxes and legitimate employee deductions. There is no standard Nevada individual income tax withholding amount to subtract.

Estimated Net Pay = Gross Pay - Federal Withholding - Social Security - Medicare - Other Employee Deductions

If a payroll template automatically inserts a Nevada state income tax line, the calculator should not use that line unless a specific non-income-tax deduction actually applies. Nevada's no-wage-income-tax structure is explained in more detail in the Nevada income tax guide.

Federal Payroll Taxes Drive Most Nevada Paycheck Tax Withholding

Federal income tax depends on taxable wages, pay frequency and Form W-4 information. Two employees with the same salary can have different federal withholding because their W-4 elections differ.

For 2026, Social Security generally applies at 6.2 percent to covered wages up to $184,500. Medicare generally applies at 1.45 percent to covered wages with no general wage ceiling. Additional Medicare Tax can apply after an employer pays more than $200,000 in Medicare wages to one employee during the year.

Nevada Hourly Paycheck Calculator

For hourly employees, calculate regular earnings first then add qualifying overtime or other taxable compensation before federal taxes are applied.

Hourly Gross Pay = Regular Earnings + Overtime Earnings + Other Taxable Pay

Nevada's statewide minimum wage is $12.00 per hour. The state eliminated the former two-tier minimum wage system in 2024, so the same statewide minimum applies regardless of whether the employer offers qualifying health benefits.

Nevada Daily Overtime Can Change Gross Pay

Nevada has a daily overtime rule in addition to the 40-hour weekly standard. Covered employees who are paid below the statutory threshold tied to one and one-half times the minimum wage can generally qualify for overtime after more than eight hours in a 24-hour workday, subject to exemptions and qualifying alternative schedules.

Because overtime changes gross wages before taxes, a Nevada hourly calculator should ask for enough hour detail to distinguish regular hours from daily or weekly overtime when those rules apply.

Nevada Salary and Biweekly Paycheck Calculator

For salaried employees, convert annual salary to gross pay for the employee's actual payroll schedule. A biweekly paycheck uses a different number of annual pay periods from semimonthly payroll.

Pay FrequencyTypical Pay Periods per Year
Weekly52
Biweekly26
Semimonthly24
Monthly12

An annual salary of $78,000 produces $3,000 of gross pay on a 26-period biweekly schedule before taxes and deductions. The same salary produces $3,250 on a semimonthly schedule with 24 regular checks.

Pre-Tax Deductions Still Matter in a No-Income-Tax State

A pre-tax deduction can reduce federal taxable wages even when there is no Nevada state income tax. Health benefits, retirement contributions and other deductions can therefore change both federal withholding and final net pay.

The tax treatment is deduction-specific. A traditional 401(k) contribution can reduce federal income tax wages while generally remaining subject to Social Security and Medicare.

Do Nevada Employer Taxes Reduce Employee Net Pay?

Nevada unemployment insurance and Modified Business Tax are generally employer obligations. They should not be entered as normal employee paycheck deductions.

Confusing employer business taxes with employee withholding can understate take-home pay. A paycheck calculator should keep employer payroll costs separate from the amounts actually withheld from employee wages.

Year-to-Date Wages and Federal Tax Limits

YTD wages matter even in Nevada because federal payroll taxes have annual thresholds. Social Security stops applying after covered wages reach the annual wage base with the employer.

YTD Medicare wages also help determine when Additional Medicare Tax withholding begins. The current paycheck should be evaluated together with wages already paid during the calendar year when these thresholds are relevant.

Why a Nevada Paycheck Estimate May Differ From the Actual Check

A simplified result can differ because of benefit elections, Form W-4 adjustments, bonuses, garnishments, payroll rounding, taxable fringe benefits, overtime classification or incomplete YTD data.

The estimate is most reliable when every input matches the employer's actual payroll setup. Employers should use current IRS guidance plus Nevada wage rules when finalizing payroll.

Use the Final Numbers to Create the Payroll Record

A paycheck calculator estimates take-home pay. A pay stub documents what the employee actually earned and what was actually withheld. After the payroll result is verified, the Nevada pay stub generator can organize genuine earnings, federal taxes, deductions and net pay into a clear statement.

For a general lawful payroll-document workflow, the check stub generator can be used after the underlying payroll numbers have been confirmed.

Methodology and Accuracy

This page reflects current Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner guidance, Nevada employer tax information, 2026 IRS federal withholding methods and the Social Security Administration's 2026 wage base. Calculator results are estimates and should be reconciled with actual payroll records before payment.
