Questions About State Paystubs
Which states have no income tax on wages?
In 2026 9 states do not tax wages: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. A paystub from those states shows federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare but no state income tax line.
Does the generator calculate state taxes?
Yes. Choose the work state and the generator adds that state's 2026 income tax withholding along with federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare. You can check every line in the free preview.
Is federal withholding the same in every state?
Yes. Federal income tax follows the employee's Form W-4. Social Security is 6.2% and Medicare is 1.45% of wages in every state. Only the state lines change.
Which state do I choose if I live in one state and work in another?
Start with the state where the work is performed, because that state's withholding rules usually apply. Some neighboring states have reciprocity agreements; the individual state pages explain them.
How much does a paystub cost?
$4.99 per paystub with no subscription. The preview is free and the PDF downloads as soon as you pay.
What do I need to create a paystub?
The company name and address, the employee's name, the pay rate or salary, the hours worked and the pay period dates. The generator does the tax math.
